Who's the Next Outgroup?
An examination of Islamophobia, Xenophobia and Anti-Semitism
Every society tries to define itself by the exclusion of specific people designated to be "different." Please join us at 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 7th in LC 317 for a panel discussion on this phenomenon in contemporary American society, presented by the Yale MSA. Distinguished panelists from the Muslim, Chicano and Jewish communities will discuss Islamophobia, Xenophobia and Anti-Semitism, three unfortunate currents of negative feeling in modern and historical public opinion. Topics for discussion will include the parallels between these three forms of bigotry, and the possibility of a collaborative effort between these and other marginalized communities to defend the rights of minorities.
